First Patch Holder to Address the TN State Legislators
On April 12th Pastor Ron Baptiste became the first Patch Holder (biker) to address the Tennessee State Legislators on Capitol Hill.
Pastor Ron spoke about the opioid crises facing the state of Tennessee and the involvement of the local Church. Pastor Ron’s Church, Covenant Confirmers Ministries Inc., the Biker Church in Springfield, TN has becomes a “Certified Recovery Congregation” from the Tennessee Association of Alcohol, Drug, & other Addiction Services.
Pastor Ron has a working relationship with the Robertson County Drug Court, he has over twenty years of experience with Prison Ministry, Motorcycle Ministry, Drag Racing Ministry, Street Ministry while pastoring his local Church. He is also the founder of the Tennessee Biker Medical Clinic, a free clinic to all motorcyclist.
Tennessee is the first state to recognize Faith-based Intervention programs. Covenant Confirmers Ministries Inc. has free support group meetings every Monday night at 7:00 pm. Once a quarter they have a “family night” were family members of the recovery community can come and learn that addiction is not a moral problem but a medical issue.
